The restomod industry is gaining momentum and one of the popular options for refining classic cars in a modern way has been the conversion of models with traditional internal combustion engines to electric cars. Many firms have emerged that specialize in converting specific car models to electric traction, and Felten Motors employees have announced a program to electrify several iconic cars of the past at once.

Currently, the company already has solutions for the original Mini, classic Land Rover and Porsche 911, and in the development kits for Jeep Wrangler, Land Rover Defender and Ford Bronco, of course, classic generations. A feature of such improvements is their complete reversibility and the possibility of returning base cars to their original state.

The company, which emerged from the merger of Zero EV and Jaunt Motors, performs a 3D scan of the original model before starting work to determine the optimal layout of the elements of the electric propulsion system.

At the same time, specialists try to place all the components so as not to disturb the original weight distribution, and before launching the kit into production, it undergoes thorough tests on a car. The FL10-55e kit includes a 55 kWh battery pack, an electric motor, and parts needed for installation.

At the request of the client, the electric car can be equipped with an energy recovery system, a hill-holding assistant and other electronic driver assistants. Felten Motors, in addition to kits adapted to specific models, is going to introduce a universal kit in the near future. It is expected that such a kit will allow turning any car into an electric car.
